“I’m going to make everything around me Beautiful ——that will be my life” – Elsie de Wolfe

RY3A3799-2Ever since I was little I have been utterly captivated with the beautiful. Everyone and everything I saw, I saw as deeply and incredibly beautiful. But as I grew older I began to realize that the innocent understanding of pure and authentic beauty that I had always held, was not the same notion of beauty that the world endorses. What I called beautiful, the world called not good enough. What I deemed beautiful, the world deemed ordinary, unexciting, imperfect, unappealing, and unimportant. As the divide between how I saw the world and people around me and how the world told me to see the people around me deepened, I knew I had to do something. There had to be a way for me to tangibly share what I saw with own eyes with others. And that’s when I discovered the magical and incredible gift of photography.

It’s been ten years since I bought my first camera and five years since I turned this dream of mine into a business and what a beautiful journey it’s been.

What started with a passion for sharing the beautiful has turned into a career where I get to immortalize one of the most beautiful and sacred moments in a person’s life: the moment two vow to become one. Every time I shoot a wedding I become a part of the most intimate, incredible, and beautiful day of people’s lives and this is a huge honor and privilege. What a tremendous blessing it has been to serve my couples and be allowed into their circle of family and friends on the most important day of their lives.

Although I’m located in south-central Pennsylvania (somewhere between the rolling hills, dairy farms, Amish country, and potholes), traveling is one of my other passions and I have been blessed to have been to (or through) 18 different countries and 24 states. But my travel bucket list is still quite long and I’m always up for a new adventure so I will happily travel pretty much anywhere if you want me to come tell your story.

I’m heading into my senior year at Franciscan University where I’ve studied theology (it’s a long story but entirely guided by God) and while I’m not quite ready for this season of my life to be over, I’m excited to see what the future holds for this little business of mine. My time at this school has been one filled with growth, depth, healing, and joy – immense and indescribable joy. More than anything, my desire to share the beautiful has magnified as I have personally encountered He who is beauty himself over and over again. He is the lover of my soul and the king of my heart and the source of my joy.
