Meet Mary Kate

I’m Mary Kate and I love laughter, adventures, traveling, my faith, and spending time with my crazy family. If you were to give me a cup of chai tea, a cozy blanket and a good book I would be in my happy place. Ever since I was a little girl, I have had an obsession with photographs. I would spend hours pouring over National Geographic books and my favorite books at the library were those filled with photos; photos of everything from people, to places, to animals, to the everyday moments of life and everything in between. I started out snapping photographs of my seven younger siblings just for fun, but my hobby quickly turned into something more and when I was 15 years old I photographed my first family session.

Five years later God has turned my biggest passion into my job and I believe I happen to have one of the best jobs in the world. You see, I love smiles, hugs, romantic glances, weddings, babies, and people in love with each other and life. Every time I shoot a wedding I become a part of the most intimate, incredible, and beautiful day of people’s lives and this is an honor and privilege I don’t take lightly. What a tremendous blessing it has been to serve my couples in this way and to be allowed into their circle of family and friends on the most important day of their lives. Every person is incredibly unique and thus there are no two weddings or photo sessions that are the same. Each one is a unique experience because I am focused entirely and completely on YOU. I get to show you how beautiful you are! I get to capture and preserve memories for you to show your grandkids some day. And ultimately, I  get to capture what I see and what I see is life; life unfiltered, unplanned, sometimes messy, slightly wild but always authentic, raw and beautiful.

Photography is not just my passion but it’s my way of life, it the way I see life and it’s an art that I am able to gift you with when you allow me to photograph you. Photography allows me to freeze time and preserve memories for you that will last a lifetime.
